JUPITER, Fla. - Today (Tuesday) is the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Max Planck Florida Institute in Jupiter, the first one in the United States.
At 10:00a.m., the groundbreaking ceremony starts, followed by a virtual tour of the new building and then the official groundbreaking.
Not only is this exciting for people in the industry and on the F.A.U. campus, this new facility will also supply many new jobs for people in our area.
Nearly 200 business and scientific leaders will join Germany's Max Planck Society to welcome the new building Tuesday.
Organizers say the new 100,000 square foot biomedical research facility will add a powerful international dimension to the state's growing bioscience cluster.
The research facility will have 58,000 feet of laboratory space, three research wings, conference rooms, an auditorium, and much more when it opens in 2011.
