Melissa Yaldoo: Suburban Jupiter woman accused of beating up elderly man

Melissa Yaldoo, 26, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bail. She is facing charges of battery on a person of 65 years of age or older.

Yaldoo was arrested by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy who was dispatched at 8:24 p.m. Sunday to reports of battery on an elderly person in the 3000 block of Cape Pointe Circle in suburban Jupiter. The deputy was told by dispatchers that the 911 caller said Yaldoo was attacking the 89-year-old man, whose name was withheld in the arrest report.

The caller said that Yaldoo had punched the man so hard, she had knocked out his dentures. Further, the caller said Yaldoo had thrown a box of tissue paper at the man, had tried choking him and also tried smothering him with a pillow, the report said.

The deputy met with Yaldoo who allegedly made “several spontaneous utterances,” such as she wanted to “kill herself” and “that she lost control,” the deputy said in the report. She denied choking, hitting or assaulting the man, but said she threw a “phone onto the ground and threw a pillow into the bathroom,” according to the report.

Yaldoo also said that her mother was exploiting the elderly man, and that she had been arguing with her mother.

The man later told the responding deputy that Yaldoo had indeed thrown a box of tissue paper at him, but said he was never punched or had a pillow placed over his face. He added that he did not want either Yaldoo or her mother living in his home anymore, since Yaldoo’s mother was allegedly exploiting him for his money, the report said.
