JUPITER, Fla. - Blair Heath has been gone to Iraq for a whole year, serving in the U.S. Army. His first stop back home on Monday was to Independence Middle School, in Jupiter, where he surprised his daughter.
The class burst into applause as both father and daughter were reunited.
"I was supposed to come home yesterday, and then when it didn't work out, I said, well how about we surprise her? And I said that sounds like a good idea, it's been a hard year for everyone," said Heath.
The seventh grader did not expect the surprise of seeing her dad during her civics class.
"Shocked, I was in disbelief," said Mykalah Moore.
Heath says he's glad to be home, and looking forward to spending this time with family.
