JUPITER, Fla. - Jupiter Police identify the driver involved in a fatal early morning Sunday crash.

22-year-old Sean Michael Thomson the man police say was driving a pick-up truck that was speeding westbound on the 1800 block of Center Street at around 2 a.m.

Thompson lost control near the Jones Creek and Sims Creek bridge area and crashed into a light pole. The pick-up vaulted over the bridge, but did not end up in the water.

The impact cut the light pole in two and ejected Thomson from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

At this time, police aren't sure if alcohol was a factor in the crash. They haven't indicated how many people were in the car at the time of the accident.

The roadway between Pennock Lane and Loxahatchee River Road on Center Street was shut down for most of the morning Sunday, because FPL crews had to replace the power pole.

Several people were out of power as a result of the accident for a short time.
