STUART, Fla. - Treasure Coast businesses are hoping their profits will soar this weekend.
A preview for this year's Stuart Air Show took place Friday night, and planes with fireworks lit up the skies like the Fourth of July.
"There are literally thousands upon thousands of people that come out to this event," said one organizer.
Some restaurants typically see a 15 percent increase in sales when the Stuart Air Show flies into town.
"It means a lot, absolutely a lot. Any growth in sales means it's extremely important," said one restaurant manager.
Hotels in the area have also been booked up all week.
"Every aircraft that's out there has two pilots and that means one hotel room," said one organizer. "That books up a lot of hotels."
All of this is a bright spot in an economy where every penny counts.
