STUART, Fla. - Three boaters were rescued from the St. Lucie Inlet after their boat capsized Saturday morning, says Christine Christofek-Weiss, spokeswoman for the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
According to Christofek-Weiss, the 15-foot boat flipped over after it hit a large swell.
One of the boaters had a waterproof cell phone and called for help.
A Martin County Sheriff's Deputy was able to track the boaters and found them clinging on to the capsized vessel.
The deputy pulled all three aboard his marine patrol boat and brought them to Sandsprit Park where Martin County Fire Rescue officials were waiting.
The three boaters, ages 18, 19 and 20, are now being treated.
None of the boaters were wearing life jackets.
