STUART — A Port St. Lucie man who tried to get his buddy out of a DUI charge found himself needing help when Stuart Police learned he was wanted in St. Lucie County, according to an arrest report.
Stuart Police on Friday charged Robert Grant, 47, of the 1800 block of Southeast Wexford Court, with bribery after he twice offered an officer $300 to let his friend go, the report states.
The alleged bribery was made to an officer, while another officer was conducting a field sobriety test on Grant's friend.
During the arrest, the officer learned Grant had a warrant for contempt of court out of St. Lucie County.
As of Tuesday, Grant had been released from jail on $21,000 bond.
