STUART, Fla. -- - Many questions remain in the search for justice in the disappearance of Andrea Parsons, 10, of Martin County, who vanished back in July of 1993.

Claude Davis, a previous suspect who was later released and cannot be charged again because of double jeopardy, recently spoke out about the case to WPTV NewsChannel 5.

Davis claims to have been driving his van when heard Chester Price hit Parsons. He said both men panicked and decided to leave her body in the van overnight.

The next day, Davis said he and Price drove out to a remote location near State Road 710. Davis said the men then buried Parsons.

"I covered her up with a black bag and a piece of burlap sack so the dirt wouldn't go in her face. Then I said a little pray and I left," said Davis.

WPTV NewsChannel 5 caught up with Davis on Tuesday to ask him more about the day he allegedly saw Parsons die. He would not answer his door but later appeared at a nearby Publix parking lot.

Davis said he was not allowed to speak based on the advice of his lawyer. He said the Martin County Sheriff's Office visited Tuesday morning and told him it was not a good idea to keep talking about the case.

Both the state attorney's office and the sheriff's office said they could not comment about what Davis said.

A request to speak with Chester Price inside the Martin County Jail was denied.

A spokesperson told WPTV NewsChannel 5 Price he did not want to speak at the moment.
