— A Palm Bay woman was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in serious condition Sunday afternoon after her motorcycle was rear-ended by a vehicle near the south entrance to Sebastian Inlet State Park on State Road A1A.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Shirley J. Trask, 60, of Palm Bay was southbound about noon on S.R. A1A and was slowing down to make a left into the park when a southbound vehicle driven by Casey Allen Eiler, 21, of the 8000 block of A1A in Vero Beach failed to slow down and collided with the rear end of the motorcycle.

Trask lost control of her motorcycle and hit the left side of a southbound motorcycle driven by Guy Donald Elwood Jr., 71, of Melbourne. Trask came to rest on its left side facing southbound and blocking the northbound lane of S.R. A1A.

Elwood and Eiler were not injured.

Eiler was charged with "failing to use due care, to with a rear end collision."
