PALM CITY, Fla. - A person is being flown to a trauma center Thursday evening after crashing one mile north of the Interstate 95 rest area near Palm City, said District Chief Dan Wouters, spokesman for Martin County Fire Rescue.
The 6:39 p.m. accident closed all northbound lanes of I-95 near the rest area at mile marker 106 for about an hour, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
All northbound lanes have reopened.
The accident victim, whose gender and identity have not been released, met trauma alert criteria and was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Wouters said.
There are no other details immediately available.
