JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - A family of five was left temporarily homeless Friday evening when a vehicle caught fire inside the garage of their Jensen Beach home, said Chief Daniel Wouters, spokesman for Martin County Fire Rescue.
No one was injured in the fire, which started around 8:34 p.m. in the garage in the 1600 block of N.E. 21st Terrace, Wouters said.
He said fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to the rest of the house.
Preliminary reports indicated that the fire had spread to the house, but that was not the case, Wouters said.
The American Red Cross was asked to assist the family.
The Martin County Fire Rescue's Fire Prevention Bureau is investigating the cause of the blaze.
