BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- A former Connecticut travel company vice president accused of sexually abusing girls in the U.S. and Nicaragua has been sentenced to 85 years in prison.
Fifty-five-year-old Edgardo Sensi of Jensen Beach, was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Bridgeport. He pleaded guilty in July 2010 to engaging in illicit sexual conduct outside the United States and child pornography.
Federal prosecutors say Sensi, who worked at a Norwalk travel agency, went to Nicaragua in 2004 and 2005 and had illicit sexual contact with a 4-year-old girl whose mother he befriended. Officials say he also conspired between 2001 and 2004 with a former girlfriend in Connecticut to coerce her 8-year-old daughter in sex acts. Prosecutors said he video-recorded the abuse.
