MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - One person is in custody Thursday morning in connection with a suspected drug smuggling operation, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
Officials searched north of Jupiter Island and south of St. Lucie Inlet for two others in connection with the case.
The person in custody is of Bahamian descent, said officials.
About 800 pounds of marijuana were found hidden in the bushes on Jupiter Island. The drugs have an estimated street value of $800,000, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators call it the biggest bust in recent memory.
