HOBE SOUND, Fla. - 290 acres of land in Hobe Sound were affected by a wildfire that started Monday afternoon.
The Florida Division of Forestry has had crews in the area next to Bridge Road and also Federal Highway in Hobe Sound.
The Hobe Sound Golf Course borders the acreage that was still smoldering as of late Tuesday afternoon.
"Today I think every body is at ease knowing that the fire's pretty much out and although it's starting to re-burn in areas. The wind is starting to shift to the west," said course president Dick Maloof
Division of Forestry workers plowed lines in the ground to stop the spread of the wildfire.
Martin County Fire Rescue crews worked through the night and were on standby as forestry crews worked in the smoky environment.
No one has been injured as a result of the fire.
No homes were evacuated.
Martin County Firefighters will remain on scene for flare-ups.
