Habitat for Humanity Martin County celebrates 100 homes, Port Salerno family receives latest house

PORT SALERNO, Fla. - With a formal ribbon cutting, the McClain family of Port Salerno received the 100th Habitat for Humanity house built in Martin County.

Parents Lavern and Kimberly, along with their five children, can now settle into their new home.

Kimberly said it felt like her wedding day, as she prepared for the ceremony.

"To enjoy the milestone," she said, of her excitement. "To be a part of the whole legacy, and just to be a part of the history that has been made today."

Habitat for Humanity officials say they look forward to building another 100 homes, forty of which are already designated for the Carter Park community in Indiantown.
