Few voting problems on the Treasure Coast

The first person lined up to vote around 5:30 a.m. at Indian River State College.

Doors to the polls opened at 7 a.m. Unlike early voting, the lines moved fairly quickly.

It took about 15 minutes before people were counted off in groups and allowed inside the conference center to cast their ballot.

Voters said in past elections, the line would flow over into the parking lot and out to California Blvd.

In Martin County, there was no line at the Fairgrounds by noon.

The county clerk said many of the voters came in the morning, but thinks that will change when people get off from work.

A record number of people have registered to vote on the Treasure Coast.

In Martin County, a total of 101,834 people are registered to vote. Around 26,330 turned out to vote early.

St. Lucie County had 175,551 registered voters. More than 37,000 people voted early.  

Indian River County registered 93,971 voters. 28,595 of those people voted early.  

More than 19,000 people registered in Okeechobee County.
