FORT PIERCE — It will be next week before the State Attorney’s Office expects to announce what charges it will file against the man jailed in the fatal shooting of a St. Lucie County Shierff’s deputy on Feb. 28, an official said Thursday.

Eriese Tisdale, 25, of Fort Pierce remains in the Martin County Jail.

The sheriff’s office arrested him on a charge of premeditated first degree murder of Sgt. Gary Morales during a traffic stop. Tisdale also is charged with aggravated assault on a deputy, possession of a firearm by a felon and fleeing.

The State Attorney’s Office is doing its own investigation. Chief Assistant State Attorney Tom Bakkedahl had planned to file charges on Thursday, but he said the agency still is interviewing witnesses.
