PALM CITY, Fla. - An elderly man was killed Sunday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Interstate 95, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.
The 71-year-old male, whose identity was not released pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene, said Bureau Chief Dan Harshburger, spokesman for Martin County Fire Rescue.
It is believed he was not wearing a helmet, he said .
The accident happened around 5:21 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Palm City. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
There is no other information available at this time.
