JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - Several units from Martin County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a garage fire in Jensen Beach.

Martin County Fire Rescue Division Chief Jon Belding says units arrived on the 3700 block of Skyline Drive at 8:13 a.m. Sunday to find a fully involved structure fire.

Belding says crews had to conduct a ventilation operation and cut off parts of the roof to let smoke out of the home.

An 80-year-old man was treated on scene and was transported to an area hospital.

A dog was located inside of the home and eventually died of his injuries.

The American Red Cross is offering assistance to the family involved in the fire.

Martin County Fire Rescue crews are investigating.
