41.5 pounds of cocaine seized by Martin County Sheriff's Marine Unit

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - A cooler filled with approximately 41 pounds of cocaine was found floating in the water approximately 8 miles offshore, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Boaters spotted a suspicious package floating in the water and reported it to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit on Monday, September 3 rd.
The cooler contained 16 vacuum sealed packages of cocaine, according to authorities.
The street value of the 41.5 pounds of cocaine is approximately $500,000.
Deputies conducted a widespread search and were unable to locate any other vessels in the area.
Deputies destroyed the seized cocaine, according to authorities.
