Elizabeth Arellano Renteria, 21, and Hilda Marisol Medrano, 21 of Okeechobee are dead tonight after a fatal, deputy-involved car crash happened just after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, said Sergeant Mark Wysocky, spokesman for FHP.
PALM CITY, Fla. - A fatal motorcycle crash closed part of Southwest Citrus Boulevard for several hours Tuesday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on the roadway about two miles north of Boat Ramp Road at about 2:30 p.m. when he or she drifted over the double yellow lines and hit the left side of a tractor-trailer, resulting in the motorcyclist being ejected, according to the report.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene just south of the county line, according to the report.
The motorcyclist’s identity hadn’t been released late Tuesday pending family notification, according to the report. The cause of the crash remained under investigation late Tuesday.
The accident is the second fatality involving a motorcyclist in a week on the Treasure Coast. Mark Allen Conner, 19, of the 1200 block of Southwest Porter Road, died Oct. 23 after losing control of his Suzuki on Southwest Gatlin Boulevard, according to Port St. Lucie police officers.
