STUART, FLA. Beach erosion is worsening for some of South Florida's shorelines.
The erosion has become so bad at Bathtub Beach in Martin County, authorities had to remove the lifeguard stand; the ground was simply not solid enough to hold it.
The erosion issues, combined with sea turtle nesting season, made it tough for officials to find a safe place to set up the portable stand, so right now Bathtub Beach is unguarded.
The past couple days of pretty heavy wind haven't helped.
This area of the shoreline has battled erosion issues for years and the county continues to search for permanent solutions.
