MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - Bathtub Beach remains closed Tuesday, as county officials try to counter erosion troubles.

Martin County leaders closed the beach on Nov. 1, after declaring an emergency.

Days of gusty winds and high surf advisories haven't helped the already erosion-prone shoreline.

Tuesday morning, during high tide, the ocean washed up to homes and a make-shift sand line that crews created to help stave off the erosion.

The county trucked in sand from St. Lucie County, and piles of it are sitting on the beach, preventing the water from washing into the road.

Counties throughout South Florida continue to search for more permanent solutions to erosion problems.
