Vero Beach to consider offering early retirement packages to save budget

Early retirements may help Vero Beach budget

VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Vero Beach City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday to consider offering early retirement packages to cut the city's budget.

Under the proposed incentive program, eligible employees retiring before August 31st will recieve another month's pay. 

Up to 88 employees are being considered for the program. The city expects to see potential savings of at least $250,000.
