VERO BEACH — A senior citizen is accused of making sexual advances to a pre-teenage boy and his mother at a bus stop Friday morning, Vero Beach police said.
Detectives charged Felix Germano, 83, of the first block of Plantation Drive, Vero Beach, with procuring a person under 18 years old for prostitution and two counts of stalking. He was being held Friday at the Indian River County Jail without bail.
The boy said he was waiting for his school bus in the 1200 block of 24th Street when Germano drove up in a dark-colored Cadillac at 7:42 a.m., police said. The senior citizen was offering cash for sexual acts, the boy told police and his mother, who he called immediately.
The woman walked to the bus stop to get her son and said Germano was still there. The man told her he'd pay her $20 for a sexual act and continued to follow the mother and son in his Cadillac as they walked home, police said.
The mother called 911 with a description of the man and his car. A police lieutenant found Germano at 7:53 a.m. and made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of 26th Street.
Germano denied the accusations, police said.
