INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- Two people were shot overnight in a drive-by shooting near a Vero Beach restaurant, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened just after midnight in the 3000 block of 45th Street near Winston's Place restaurant, sheriff's office spokesperson Jeff Luther said.

The gunman was in a turquoise, four door, newer model car and fired from the back seat on the driver’s side of the car into a group standing in front of the restaurant, the sheriff's office said.

The two people were struck several times and transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center via Trauma Hawk with non-life threatening injuries.

Luther said it looks like a 22-caliber weapon was used in the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
