INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - An elaborate tattoo helped the Indian River County Sheriff's Office on Thursday nab a suspect wanted for stealing more than $1,000 from a vending machine at Vero Bowl, according to an affidavit.
Bobby Leon Cox Jr., 53, of Deltona was charged with grand theft. He remained at the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail Friday.
About 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 1, someone broke into one of the vending machines at Vero Bowl, in the 900 block of 14th Lane, Vero Beach, the Sheriff's Office said. Surveillance video showed the suspect was a white male with black and gray hair and a snake tattoo that covered his left forearm, according to the affidavit.
On Thursday, an employee called the Sheriff's Office after seeing the suspect at the bowling alley, the Sheriff's Office said. A deputy found Cox outside Kmart in the 1500 block of U.S. 1 and took him into custody.
