INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,Fla. - A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday claimed two lives and also sent a man and woman to area hospitals with injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers at the scene.
Early reports were that the driver and four occupants of the GMC Jimmy sports utility vehicle were from the Hollywood area of Broward County Their names were not yet released Saturday evening.
The vehicle apparently lost control and rolled over just south of the Fourth Street overpass on Interstate 95. Troopers said one man was pinned under the vehicle and that he was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
Traffic on northbound I-95 was detoured at the Indrio Road exit. Northbound I-95 was closed for more than three hours.
