VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Salvation Army of Indian River County will hold its Annual Benefit Dinner tonight, featuring Vero Beach resident John Walsh as its guest speaker.

The event will be from 5-8 p.m. at The Oak Harbor Club House in Vero Beach.

John Walsh is an American television personality, criminal investigator, human and victim rights advocate and the host of America's Most Wanted.

Walsh is known for his anti-crime activism, which he became involved with following the murder of his son, Adam, in 1981;  Following the crime, the Walsh family founded the Adam Walsh Child Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to legislative reform.

Tonight's event will begin at 5 p.m. with light Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails from the cash bar and dinner followed by John Walsh sharing his inspirational journey and experiences with The Salvation Army over the years throughout the country and locally along with his role with America's Most Wanted.
