Estefans debut new restaurant at their Vero Beach Costa d'Este Resort

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Grammy Award-winning singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estafan Jr., have opened a new restaurant concept at their luxury Vero Beach Costa d'Este Beach Resort.

The Wave Kitchen & Bar replaces the Oriente and will feature menu items sourced from local farmers. The oceanfront restaurant, with views of the Atlantic Ocean, also features select Cuban specialties developed by the power couple for their Estefan Kitchen cookbook. Chef Ray Munford will oversee the open kitchen.

"Costa d'Este has had the generous support of the vibrant Vero Beach community over the last few years, and we wanted to invest in our backyard," said Costa d'Este Beach Resort General Manager Charles Nehme in a news release. "We've partnered with local farms and purveyors to highlight the best culinary ingredients available in the region and support the local economy."

The restaurant will prepare dishes with items from Osceola Organic Farms and Sealed Sweet in Vero Beach and K&M Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce. Other proprietors include B&W Growers in Belle Glade, Alderman Farms from Boynton Beach, Winter Park Dairy, Green Sky Growers in Winter Garden and Pero Farms in Clewiston.

The Wave Kitchen & Bar menu states the restaurant's "aim is to use local ingredients with respect to seasonal harvests as the produce achieves its full culmination of flavors."

The Wave concept was designed to offer a dining experience similar to what one would encounter at a hospitable and cozy dinner party at a friend's home. In addition to classic selections like center-cut filet mignon served with sauce béarnaise and pork tenderloin served with natural au jus infused with port wine, diners are able to customize entrée selections with choice of preparation style, sauce and temperature.
