A Treasure Coast teacher was arrested Tuesday after he bought marijuana from an undercover officer in Indian River County, according to a newly released arrest affidavit.
William Howle IV, a Gifford Alternative School teacher, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after purchasing 27 grams of marijuana from an undercover officer for $300, according to the report.
It says the transaction took place at the Burger King parking lot on U.S. 1 just north of C.R. 510.
According to the affidavit: Mr. Howle met an undercover officer at Burger King shortly before 2 p.m. The undercover officer told Mr. Howle to get in his car so the transaction could take place. The officer said Howle paid the money and was arrested as he left the vehicle. He was taken to the Indian River County Jail.
According to the affidavit, Howle said he buys marijuana about once a month.
The 40-year-old faces two felonies, one for purchasing marijuana, and one for possession of marijuana over twenty grams.
