A 21-year-old man accused of shooting two people in a crowd in Gifford the night of March 31 will have charges dropped Monday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Julian Butler, 21, of Homestead, was booked Saturday at the Indian River County Jail on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and discharging a firearm in public.
Three people at the shooting identified Butler from a photo lineup, yet Raulen said it appears they picked the wrong person.
Investigators reviewed an Orlando store security videotape and store receipt that Butler’s attorney said showed that the University of Central Florida student was in Orlando at the time of the shooting in the 3300 block of 45th Street.
