UPDATE: ALL LANES ON I-95 HAVE REOPENED.
EARLIER STORY;
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- Crews battled a 60 acre brush fire at mile marker 142 off I-95 in Indian River County, Wednesday.
As a result the Florida Department of Transportation says all lanes of the interstate are closed five miles south of State Road 60/Exit 147.
DOT says drivers heading southbound should get off at State Road 60/Exit 147 and take 43rd Avenue/Johnston Road to Indrio Road.
Motorists going northbound should get off at Indrio Road/Exit 138 and take Johnston Road/43 rd Avenue to State Road 60.
The fire, located in the 8600 block of Oslo, was noticed shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Indian River County Fire is using brush trucks and crews are assisting the Florida Forest Service which is using a helicopter to dump water on the blaze.
The Florida Forest Service says its helicopter has dropped 68 loads of water on the fire. Each load contains 360 gallons.
Officials are not sure how the fire started.
As of 5:15 p.m. the fire was 100% contained.
