Police released the identity of the woman who was shot and killed in West Palm Beach Saturday afternoon.
According to Captain Bernhardt with West Palm Beach Police, Amaria Grant, 41, was on a bike when she was approached by a man wearing a leather jacket.
Police say he shot her multiple times.
The shooting happened near Edmor Road and South Olive Avenue around 1 p.m.
The gunman ran east toward Flagler Drive after the incident.
Police searched the area with dogs and a helicopter, but did not find him.
"I was upstairs in the office working on the computer and heard noises and we assumed they were fireworks going off, people celebrating Christmas early," said Dave Daucanski. He added, "this is different for this neighborhood, and even a lot of the police said they haven't been down here for a crime like this in ages."
Authorities are looking for a black male around "5'7", between 140-160 lbs., and between 20-40 years old. He was last seen with a brown/black leather jacket on, with dark pants.
