West Palm Beach fire lieutenant arrested on a DUI charge

A firefighter lieutenant who was placed on paid leave after an incident in which he was Tasered three times at a Jupiter restaurant was arrested again Sunday on a DUI charge.

Joshua Goodfellow was booked at 3:43 a.m by Jupiter police and released on $1,000 bond after 1 p.m., records show.

Goodfellow, 34, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge two months earlier after police said he was wrestled to the ground by an employee of a Jupiter restaurant where he was looking for his wife. Goodfellow later pounded on the locked glass door of the restaurant and an officer reported smelling alcohol on his breath. He was Tasered three times and taken into custody.

West Palm Beach officials said at the time he was placed on paid leave.

“We and the public as a whole hold firefighters and police officers to a higher standard and this type of behavior does not meet that standard,” city spokesman Elliot Cohen said then.

Last year Goodfellow was suspended for 12 hours without pay for taking photos with his cellphone of a 21-year-old woman who committed suicide, The Palm Beach Post reported last month. He was also reprimanded in 2007 and 2008 for being negligent with city property and issues related to his response to a fire alarm, according to his personal record.
