SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-- The Walmart at 4375 Belvedere Road in suburban West Palm Beach is now reopened after a brief evacuation on Friday evening.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said a powdery substance was spilled on an aisle in the meat department.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Hazmat team determined the suspicious powder found in the store was not hazardous, according to Albert Borroto, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman.
Seventeen people were treated from respiratory problems, and nine were transported to local hospitals. The patients were coughing and sneezing.
It is still unclear what the substance that spilled was.
