WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a victim in a fatal crash in West Palm Beach.

Deputies say 65-year-old Robert Whitley of Pompano Beach was traveling southbound on the 2400 block of South Military Trail in his Santa Fe Hyundai Friday morning when he drifted onto the west shoulder, over the curb, onto the sidewalk and smashed into a concrete power pole.

Upon impact the vehicle headed into a southeasterly direction and flipped on the driver's side. The car came to a stop in the outside southbound lanes of Military Trail.

Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash.
