PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - The Urban League of Palm Beach County hosted a luncheon Wednesday for about 600 young guests.
They received a lesson from some familiar faces.
They heard MSNBC's Michael Eric Dyson talk about what he learned when he was their age.
"So I meet them where they are - use a little hip hop culture, talk about pop culture more broadly. Speak about the issues that are important to them. And then get them to see that an old guy like me understands their young problems and they are young people that are having those problems and then we can talk about it. Motivate by saying 'look I've been where you are,' " Dyson said.
Other speakers at the Urban League luncheon included Tamron Hall of MSNBC's News Nation.
