WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Happy 50th Birthday to the South Florida Science Museum.
To celebrate its golden anniversary, Fete Du Soleil: A Toast to 50-years of Science, will be held at a private chateau in Palm Beach.
Tonight's special event will honor the Museum's "founding mothers" the Junior League as well as astronaut Robert Crippen, while celebrating the past 50 years of science in the community.
The evening will incorporate a lot of fun "science" themed highlights as well, uniting the museums past, present and future supporters.
Proceeds from tonight's event will benefit the South Florida Science Museum's science education enrichment programs.
Each year the museum welcomes more than 125,000 visitors and reaches more than 45,000 students through workshops at the museum and outreach programs to local schools.
Established in 1961, the museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to exciting curiosity and furthering the understanding and appreciation of science and technology.
