The weather is starting to get a little warmer. Even so, manatees are still very visible in our coastal waters.

Youreporter "Ali W." took this picture of a family of manatees in a protected part of Peanut Island Sunday.

The two adults and calf were not too far from swimmers who were a little tempted by the sea cows' proximity.

It is important to remember manatees are protected! It is illegal to injure, harm, or harass one! If you see anyone interfering with a manatee, you're urged to call the FWC's Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC.
