WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Leading up to the outcome of Super Bowl 46, a lot of people got together Sunday night to watch the big game.
A portion of Clematis Street was closed due to a large turnout for the Super Bowl festivities.
Both New England Patriots fans and New York Giants fans mixed together outside Roxy's Bar, watching the Super Bowl on a big screen parked in the middle of the street.
"Naturally the two best teams would play each other," said Allysa Barry, a Patriots fan.
Despite both teams being hundreds of miles away from South Florida, fans were not out of place.
Both Patriot fans and Giants fans escape frigid winters to come to warmer cities like West Palm Beach.
"Why not? I mean what's a better place? We pretty much know each other. We're a big family down here," said Junette Ortiz, a Giants fan.
While no one forgot there was a championship at stake, there were also memories being made.
Games were played, friendships flourished and for a moment, the score didn't matter.
"Honestly at the end of the day, we're just here to have a good time. We're here to have fun. We'll love each other no matter who wins or who loses," said Barry.
Fans out on Sunday night said the scoreboard didn't control the experience.
