WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - They are startling accusations.
Polo Mogul John Goodman is now pointing the finger at the victim in a fatal DUI crash.
He is charged with running a stop sign that killed 23 year old Scott Wilson.
Goodman has taken the fifth and will not say why Wilson is to blame.
Attorneys for Wilson's family were in court on Tuesday at a civil trial hearing. They asked to have that defense tossed out, but the judge said it's too early to do that.
Goodman was charged with DUI manslaughter in the accident. He is facing criminal charges as well.
A date for the criminal trial hasn't been set yet.
Lili Wilson and her attorney were taken back by the accusation during the civil proceedings.
"As an attorney I try to take it all in context, but as a representative of my client, I find it insensitive at best," says Wilson's attorney Chris Searcy.
"This has all just been really hard and then to have this, I mean how can my son be blamed for this?" says Wilson. " It's just hit pretty hard then when something like this happens you are thinking how can my son be blamed for this."
There is another hearing next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the civil trial is set for May.
