Authorities arrest suspect in shooting death of a man in suburban West Palm Beach

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -

Authorities have arrested a suspect in the shooting death Saturday afternoon of a man in the 2000 block of Major Drive in suburban West Palm Beach, said Eric Davis, spokesman for Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim died of a gunshot wound to the upper torso, Davis said.

He was dead when rescue crews arrived on scene around 4:30 p.m., said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach Fire Rescue

Witnesses told deputies that they saw the suspect flee north into an apartment complex, Davis said.

Deputies, along with K-9, found the suspect and he surrendered without incident, Davis said.  

The suspect was taken into custody and is being questioned, Davis said.
