SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Divers suspended the search for additional occupants of a vehicle that plunged into a pond in the 1700 block of Skees Road in suburban West Palm Beach Saturday evening, according to Lee Forshner, spokesman from the Palm Beach Fire Rescue.
The search was suspended after learning that there was only one person in the vehicle, Forshner said.
He said the driver accidentally put the car in drive and drove right into a pond behind a mobile home park at 1701 Skees Road.
The person was pulled from the vehicle and taken to a local trauma center in critical condition.
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon, a person was taken to Palms West Hospital in critical condition after being pulled from a vehicle, which was upside down in a canal in Loxahatchee.
The accident happened around 5:35 p.m. near the intersection of Folson Road and Okeechobee Boulevard, Forshner said.
