WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A woman was struck and killed Saturday morning while attempting to cross North Military Trail north of Westgate Avenue.

Iliane Belvert Jacinthe, 64, was crossing North Military Trail in a westbound direction around 7 a.m. when she was struck by a car traveling northbound in the inside lane, said Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, Jacinthe did not use the pedestrian walk, 50 feet south of where she was crossing, and also failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Herbert Lester, 44, of West Palm Beach, was driving the car that struck Jacinthe..
