Palm Springs Police and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded Sunday afternoon to the 1800 block of Alice Avenue in Palm Springs, where a woman found what she believed to be a live grenade in the carport of her new home.

The woman, Roxanne Pesyna, was evacuated and the device removed.

The bomb squad later  x-rayed the device and found that it was "the primary charge, used to set the grenade off and not a live grenade."
