Travelers will soon have more places to shop and eat at the Palm Beach International Airport.

Tuesday evening, county commissioners voted to build a 100,000 square foot travel plaza at PBIA.

The plaza will include a gas station, convenience store, food court, car wash, and additional parking spaces.

It'll sit on the southwest corner of Belvedere Road and Florida Mango Road.

The contractors, West Palm Beach Plaza LLC, have built other plazas across the east coast including one at JFK.

For the first 3 years, PBIA will get a rental fee of $152,828.00 dollars.

They'll also get a percentage of the revenue from the fuel sold and concession fees, which is expected to average at least a million dollars.
