WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Cameras could be added to traffic lights throughout Palm Beach County if a proposed ordinance is adopted.

The Palm Beach County Commission is holding a public hearing on the proposed camera ordinance at its Tuesday meeting.

The Florida Legislature gave local governments the authority to use red light cameras last May.

The city of West Palm Beach currently uses the cameras at various locations.

If the red light proposal is adopted, red light runners would face a $158 fine.
