WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Palm Beach County School Board is taking another step Wednesday toward choosing a new, permanent superintendent.

Board members are scheduled to interview the three candidates -- Janis Andrews, Constance Jones and Tom Watkins -- in the afternoon.

Andrews is currently the school district's assistant superintendent of curriculum and learning support. Jones is from Lee County, where she is the chief academic officer for that school district. Watkins is the former leader of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach County is the 11th largest district in country, with 170,000 students and 187 schools.

The final vote is scheduled for Feb. 15.
