WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Students from Palm Beach Atlantic University broke a sweat Saturday morning laying mulch at the Palm Beach Zoo.
According to Angela Cruz Ledford with the Palm Beach Zoo, fifty-five students volunteered their time to help clean the zoo’s grounds during the university’s "Welcome Week" service project, says Ledford.
Part of the work involved laying 58,000 pounds of mulch, which was donated by Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
The students also participated in landscaping, removing exotic plants and painting.
Classes for the fall semester begin Monday.
